Dreaming about Spring and Pizza

Winter In New England is NOT for The Weak.
Aa much as we look forward to off season and some downtime on Cape Cod, those months are the coldest, grayest and long. This past Friday night I thought it would be fun to order out. I cook nearly every night. We order out for dinner maybe once or twice a month. So, my usual "go to" is pizza and salad. Not exciting, but a treat once in a while.
.
I called our "usual" pizza place. Phone recording said they were on vacation until February. Okay, no problem, we can call the next spot downtown. Closed. Now onto the third spot, also downtown. Closed until March. Well, that covered our town.
.
I guess call a place one town over. I have never tried it. Didn't need too because we have three good ones in my town. Called, sounded really busy, frazzled but placed an order. I had to repeat it several times and thought, "that order won't be right" It was only three items.
.
After 30 minutes, picked it up, it was correct, but... it was terrible. So rushed, sloppy, cold, and didn't taste good at all. So, as off season seems appealing to the outside world, its not so great for us locals who can't get pizza in our town on a Friday night.
